about us

Welcome to the blog of KLJB Augsburg, KLJB Mainz (Germany) and CARYM Eldoret (Kenya). This should be our platform to stay in contact to each other and to communicate. Published are posts concerning current issues from the international workgroups AKI/InTeam and of the diocesan boeard of CARYM Eldoret.
At the weekend of 25th to 27th November 2011 we met the first time to prepare the trip to Kenya in 2012. We met in the “Canisius-Haus” in Dinkelscherben, which is close to Augsburg. The main topic of the Weekend was to find three small teams. The topic of the first team is finance, the second team thinks about entertainment and the last team is there for the publicity and documentary.  The teams always have to have an eye on their topic, not just in the preparation here in Germany, also during the exchange in Kenya. Also important at this weekend were some presentations about the culture of Kenya, so every participant knows something about the different culture. We all think, that we have got a good team with nice people and everybody is very excited to come to Kenya.

Partnership Letter

Partnership letter KLJB Augsburg to CARYM Eldoret
6th of October 2011

Dear CARYM Members,

we want to inform you about what´s going on in Germany. First of all we hope you are fine and blessed with health. We were very sad hearing that Father Emmanuel is leaving the CARYM. We want to say thank you and wish him success with his new challenge to serve as chaplain in the Kenyan Army. At the same time we are looking forward to work together with Father Cleophas Kipkorir and send him a warm welcome to our partnership-group.

Our post proceeding weekend in Zornheim/Mainz from 08th -10th of September was very successful. We wrote an article for the partnership homepage as well as for the KLJB newspaper consisting of a short overview over the three weeks in Germany.
We also arranged a power-point presentation with pictures to give impressions of our exchange to other KLJB members. Moreover we wrote a thank-you letter for all people demanding money that made the exchange possible. The weekend was also a good time for us to talk about the things we experienced in August.

Until now we have started to prepare the visit in Kenya in August 2012. The organization team in Germany consists of Lisa and Eve for Mainz and Kaspar and Franzi for Augsburg. In November we are going to meet at a youth house near Augsburg where all the participants of our journey take part and get first information about that exchange.
During that weekend we´ll hear some presentations about life and people in Kenya, it´s climate, economy & geography. Instructions about how to prepare for the journey and getting to know each other are main topics too. In a few days we´ll send the announcement of the exchange to all KLJB groups in Mainz and Augsburg.

This weekend (7th – 9th of October) is the diocesan meeting of Augsburg where we represent the AKI and it´s topics like food sovereignty, fair clothes and of course the partnership with Mainz and Eldoret. We want to motivate KLJB members to come to Kenya with us. Furthermore we (Inteam Mainz & AKI Augsburg) created a new flyer with information about the actions in our workgroups. So, we want to motivate young people to join the Inteam/AKI. At the moment Manfred and Felix are reworking our partnership homepage to make it more attractive for the interested people.

We in Germany are all back in our daily business like school, university or job. In general everybody is fine and we´re looking forward to meeting each other in November in Augsburg. We are also excited to get some more news from Eldoret especially concerning the council in October :)

God bless & best wishes from Germany

AKI Augsburg & Inteam Mainz

AKI meeting on 31.08.2011

We met in diocesan office in Augsburg on 31st of August with the following agenda and results:

Reflection of the exchange in Gestratz and Augsburg
First we talked about the statements of the boxes and after that everybody was able to tell five points he/she 1. liked 2. wants to mention 3. didn´t like 4. wants to continue with the exchange because... 5. had lack of time

Further we talked about a "Thank-you letter" for the abbeys who donated money for the exchange. This job was delegated to Anna who will send the letters.

Refering to our first postprocessingweekend form 8th to 10th of September about the exchange in Germany 2011 we organized the meals we´ll cook because AKI is responsible for the food.

Franzi is searching for a able house to stay during the preparationweekend in November 2011.

In the diocesan office of Augsburg exists a folder with informations about the exchange and other AKI topics. This folder will be digitised by Franzi and Anna.

Best wishes from Augsburg
